Why do we want more? Well, there are several reasons. The engaging and often complex stories are one. You can find an anime show suited to ANY taste, any age, and if you like it there's probably an anime about it out there somewhere. They are also not all for children and touch on some subjects that many American shows are afraid to delve into. Death and the serious realities of war, for instance. The style is another. Anime does actually have varying styles, from Clamp's classic "big eyes and small mouths" to Miyazaki's beautiful simplicity to Samurai X's stark realism. They also aren't afraid to experiment, as studio Gainax does with Neon Genesis Evangelion and FLCL.
No matter which way you look at it, anime covers pretty much everything from soaps to sci-fi to romance and drama, and if someone finds what they like and gives it a chance, they'll ususally agree that anime's pretty wonderful stuff, and that's why I, and many others, are nuts over the stuff. May more of it continue to find it's way to us from across the seas!
