The Kantri Series
By Elizabeth Kerner
Synopsis
Laenen Kaelar has been cooped up on her father's farm for as long as she can remember, but her heart and spirit has gone elsewhere. She longs to go to the forbidden dragon isles, and speak with the legendary dragons rumored to live there. When she goes, she not only meets a dragon on her trip with a merchant group, but falls in love with him, Akor, king of the dragons. Fate has even more in store for her, however, since her real father wasn't the one she grew up with, and she's been promised to the demons by her real father .
Why I Love This Series
This, aside of the Sword of Truth series, has simply the best writing of our time. Kerner's prose is simply elegant and fantastic. Terrifically smooth and her character changes are complete. She's daring enough to write in first person point of view, something you VERY rarely see these days, and when she switches, she's completely in that character's head. A brilliant writer with just her first two books. Dare I say it, she could be the Tolkein of our time. The only author who outshines her in my eyes is Terry Goodkind. This is sure to be a classic, so be sure to get your hands on these two books, and look forward to her new one when it comes out this summer, titled Redeeming The Lost.
