PernMUSH

I don't play there anymore, but this is a MUSH worthy of mention because it's one of the biggest Pern based *MUs, and it's also the first one I was ever on. I was Brialla, a kitchen maid at Fort Weyr, and I'll never forget my days playing her, either.

The Setting of PernMUSH

This is another *MU, a MUSH, based on Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series of books. It's set on the world Pern, where humans live with Dragons and ride to rid the skies of occasional burning silver threads that fall and would decimate the land and its people otherwise.

The timeline of the MUSH is set during the 10th pass of the Red Star that brings thread to Pern, and events from the book The White Dragon on through the rest of the series are disreguarded. The Pernese never found the A.I.V.A.S. computer in the spaceship of their ancestors, so thread will always fall. None of the characters in prevous books of the series set before that time are alive, and will never be allowed to be played, though they can be mentioned.

The main playing of PernMUSH covers all of the northern continent except for Ruatha Hold and Benden Weyr. Those are not playable areas there anymore.

Brialla

Looks

Brialla, my first character, was everything I wanted to look like at the time. She had long, dark hair, with gold eyes and a lovely, curvy figure. She usually wore simple clothes, being a kitchen drudge, and wore black and brown, Fort Weyr's colors.

History

Brialla's history was full of sadness. The lord holder's son wanted her and tried to force herself on her. Her brother saved her, but she got blamed and banished for the incident. So she left her small hold, and ended up at Fort Weyr, where she settled in as a kitchen drudge.

Brialla lived happily there, and even fell in love with a young man named Talan. She found herself pregnant with his child and they were both exstatic about it, until he died in a fall. Despondent, Brialla left with her baby and lived in Ruatha Hold for a few years. She later came back to Fort to live near her son when the Ruatha harper recommended him for the Harper Hall.
