Synopsis
These stories chronicle the adventures of Richard Rahl as he grows from a humble woodsman to the most powerful wizard the world has ever seen. It's also the story of how he won the heart and hand of Kahlan Amnell, the powerful and untouchable Mother Confessor, and their trials being torn between their unbreakable love for each other and their duty to protect their people.
Why I Love This Series
What I like mainly about Goodkind's writing is how action packed it is. The pages seem to fly by, it's such fast reading. He really makes you care about the characters as well. By the end of the first book I was totally in love with Richard and Kahlan, and I really wanted them to be together. They are very honorable characters, embracing and fighting for justice, peace, and above all, the truth. Brave and stalwart, even with their faults, they're everything I would wish to be, and everything I would wish my children to be like. Goodkind's take on justice, truth, and human nature really touched me as no other books have. The way he brings out the nobility and endurance of the human spirit has to be read to be believed. This is my all-time favorite series, and, dare I blaspheme, I consider it better than The Lord Of The Rings. This is truly a series to read and cherish.
