Well, Tarynn is me, obviously. My real name is Cassie, and Tarynn is my online name and alter ego. She's many people on the online roleplaying games I play on. She's a Damarian warrior, pilot of a merchant starship, a Pernese drudge in Ista Weyr, and wife of the head wizard of the town of Firdogh. I originally wanted Brianna as my online name, but over the years it's morphed from Brianna to Briala, Loren, and Myrn on various other games I've played on, finally to using Tarynn as my standard name. She always has gold eyes, and sometimes a crimson streak in her hair. Tarynn also always has long hair, hanging to her butt most times, and she almost always keeps her hair in a big, thick braid.
Tarynn's a Celtic name. It's a mix of the name Tara, the Celtic word for "high hill" and also the name of the Celts' ancient capital, and the name Erin, meaning "Ireland." I saw the name in my mother-in-law's book of names and completely fell in love with it. The name just has a fabulous sound to it, and it fits my characters very well.
Tarynn's that part of me that I usually keep hidden. She's more bold, daring, and a bit more of a high socialite than I am. Tarynn's very outgoing and speaks her mind FAR more than I would normally. She's also a little smarter, and more aware of etiquette and the niceties in company, as well as being FAR prettier. She also seems to have that certain knack for knowing just what to say at all the right times. I really wish I could do all that, myself. Then again, I also sometimes wish I could pilot a starship, too, and that's not about to happen anytime soon.
