When Terry Goodkind published his first book, Wizard's First Rule, I wonder if he knew what he was getting into. I, myself, am very glad that he got into it. His Sword of Truth series is about the adventures of Richard Rahl, the Seeker of Truth, and his fantastic Sword of Truth. This series, and this first book in particular, is both extremely entertaning and thought provoking. I've never had a fantasy series give me so much to think about before. I love the lessons these books teach, particularly in this first one. Richard and the reader learn a lot as he goes through his trials. From the first time I read this wonderful book, it really left an impression on me as no other book has. Terry's insight into the human psyche, politics, and religion, are amazing to me. Wizard's First Rule is a best seller, as are all the books of the series, and with very good reason.

There's one thing, to my mind, that would truly complete and enhance the experience, and that's a movie series, especially since Hollywood now has the ability to make special effects that are good enough to do the story justice...

Well, now it looks like we lovers of the romance of Richard and Kahlan will finally get our wish. the news on http://www.terrygoodkind.com is that Sam Raimi - director of the Evil Dead and Spider-Man series of movies, along with producing the Xena and Hercules TV series - is going to produce the book Wizard's First Rule as a mini-series, tenetively scheduled for 2008. So, three cheers! We'll finally see our favorite characters from this wonderful series in the flesh! I'll give more info as I hear it.

In the meantime, please enjoy these tidbits and teasers
